What is Makerplace?

Hi backers!
We want to dedicate an update to Makerplace and share some more information about what it is and what you can do with it. So, let’s jump into it!
What is it?
Makerplace is where you can find tutorials, part files and example projects for everything in the MOREbot ecosystem. You can share your own designs, learn from other makers and get inspired to create your next great invention.
That’s a pretty broad explanation, so let’s dive into what it actually consists of. We break Makerplace into three areas: Learn, Make, and Share.
Learn:
This is where you can find our tutorials. Tutorials will teach you everything from how to build and program your Base Robot to how to design new wheels for your robot.
You can sort the tutorials by type or create your own here. We’re still working on sorting and searching so you’ll have more options to find the tutorials and search for the skills you want to learn.
The tutorials are all step-by-step and include both an image and a description. We’ve found the best results come from learning with the information clearly displayed, step-by-step. So, we built our platform to reflect this!
Make:
This is where you can find all of the parts in our robot ecosystem -- even the ones we don’t sell in kits. We include the .stl and .step files in a ZIP file whenever you download a part. You’ll also be able to upload your own parts and grow the MOREbot ecosystem.
Share:
This is where you can see what other people have built, get inspiration for new projects, and share what you’ve created. “Share” was meant to be a more open-ended part of the platform that focuses on uplifting and inspiring one another. This part of the platform is still under development, but should be fully functional within two weeks.
Stage of Development:
Anyone can make a mock-up of a super slick site and pretend they’re further along than they actually are, but that’s not us. What you see above is functional and currently being tested by over 50 local beta testers in six (6) different schools.
What’s Next:
Our team is working on creating high-quality content for Makerplace and further developing the platform. We love the MOREbot and the work we are doing to bring it to life! We can not wait for you to get your robots and start creating.
As of writing this, we have 11 days to go on our campaign and are over 70% funded. Remember, you can help us reach our goal by sharing our page, referring us to someone you might think is interested and giving us feedback on how to improve.
We need your help to get fully funded so that you and all of the other great MOREbot supporters can get their robots. We couldn’t do this without your support!

Hi Everyone,
For those who haven’t heard yet, MOREtech is partnering with Maker Therapy, a non-profit that brings makerspaces to children’s hospitals across the country.
Maker Therapy is transforming the hospital experience for children and improving patient outcomes. After the campaign is over, you’ll receive a survey with an option to send your reward to one of the hospitals in Maker Therapy’s network.

Hey Guys,
We’ve had some questions about how 3D printing works and its accessibility.
3D printing actually keeps costs low and increases accessibility to the MOREbot ecosystem. We don’t know about you, but we don’t know many people with injection molding machines in their homes, makerspaces or schools.
3D printers, however, are becoming more commonplace.
These printers are quickly becoming a critical part of the rapid prototyping process and will only continue to increase in popularity. We want this to be a tool that enables makers to create tech, not just consume it.
That’s why our main components are wooden dowels and 3D-printed parts; we want to make it easier than ever before to build large, complex structures without costing you an arm and a leg.
